  1. I don't think they want MY story...I've broken 5 machines over the years. LOL I finally gave up on sewing 18 years ago! I would love to make quilts, but just can't using a sewing machine!

  2. I learned to sew at school in a Home Economics class. We made ugly white aprons and had to do a basting stitch in order to gather and draw in the material. It became a piece of garbage, wrinkled and strange looking.
However, over the years I conquered sewing.
Martha Stewart tells everyone to try it and you will have a lifetime of enjoyment. It all depends on the machine and the project. I am still learning.
Tess, with the new machine and the new lighting mechanisms I know that it would be easier for you now.
I love knitting because I can control what I am doing and it is portable.
My favorite hobby now is reading.
All the best and Have a Wonderful Weekend, Tess!!

  3. I'm sure you're right, Marie... technology has to be better these days. I had a girl at Hobby Lobby that said she'd teach me if I bought a machine! My sister-in-law actually taught me when I was 12. I made a dress, but I swear, I just didn't get it! And I did bookkeeping and taxes for years, so I know it's not my patience level...I think some people just aren't meant to do some things...I think sewing is one of those for me! I do love other handwork though! You ahve a great weekend too, Marie!!
